2013  Bush to Beach Walk - Sunday 22nd September

Welcome to the 2013 Bush to Beach Walk. This walk is being organised by the Friends of Shenton Bushland Inc in conjunction with the Western Metropolitan Region of Council's community launch of the Bush to Beach Trail. Funding participants for the development of the trails included WESROC, Department of Sport and Recreation and Lotterywest. The Whadjuk network of trails will eventually link remnant bushland and wetland areas throughout Perth's western suburbs.

This walk is being organised to celebrate the completion of the first of six stages in the network. The Bush to Beach trail runs from Rosalie Park in Shenton Park to Cottesloe via Lake Jualbup, Shenton Bushland, Perry Lakes, Bold Park, Lake Claremont, Allen Park, Swanbourne and Grant Marine Park.

The walk begins with a Noongar welcome and smoking ceremony at Rosalie Park at 9.30am on Sunday 22nd September. The walk is 16km long, with a lunch break at Reabold Hill.

Participants are welcome to walk the entire trail or sections (such as Rosalie Park to Reabold Hill, or Reabold Hill to Grant Street).
