The Friends of Hollywood Reserve showed us around ... everyone enjoyed the blaze of colour ... and impressed by the work being done here ...
... and the morning tea provided by Friends of Hollywood and Council ... thanks!
Heidi Hardisty showed us around the amazing work done by the Friends of Lake Claremont over the past 12 years ... reminded me of how long it is since I have been here ... the place is barely recognizable from the days we used to walk along the golf course which went right up to the water's edge. Thanks to Heidi and Soozie Ross for hospitality at the Friends of Lake Claremont shed.
We ran out of time to get to the top of Reabold Hill for afternoon tea ... so had a brief stop at this lookout in Bold Park ... only 2km back  (as the crow flies) ...

2017 Bush to Beach Walk

Welcome to the 2017 Bush to Beach Walk - 10th September 2017

Begins at Grace Vaughan House car park (off Stubbs Tce Shenton Park) at 10 am, Sunday 10th September.

This year's walk begins and ends at Shenton Bushland  with stops for morning tea with the Friends of Hollywood Reserve,  followed by BYO picnic lunch at  Lake Claremont and afternoon tea the top of Reabold Hill before returning to Shenton Bushland around 3.30.

Along the way we will visit a number of regeneration areas as well as passing through bushlands at spring flowering time.

The walk follows sections of the recently created Whadjup Walk Trails network - using the Karak Bidi trail from Hollywood Reserve to Bold Park and the Bush to Beach Trail back to Shenton Bushland.
